Holy Crap!

They did manage to get her origin down to one sentance.

Really, that's all a new reader needs to know about her.

  1. Now, try doing it with Linda Danvers.

Ooh! Or better yet, Donna Troy.

  2. Donnat Troy: Magical Twin sister of Wonder Woman.

That's about all you need to know, anything else added and you lose anyone lol

  3. Linda Danvers: Peter David smoking the gooood crack.

    (I kid, 'cause I love.)

  4. Donna Troy: Your guess is as good as ours.

  5. I'm just impressed that her boob window is so small!

  6. Wow, they win the Succinct Award.

The boob window IS small -- but it no longer looks like it has any support to it. Somehow, it looks MORE pruiently peekaboo than most versions of the window costume.

And they gave Donna Troy the simple, one-sentence origin in the first issue of the current series: Wonder Woman's Sister. No "magical twin", no "Dark Angel Kidnapping", no ten-trillion parallel Harbringers -- they TOSSED all that.

    And that's a GOOD thing.

When 90% of a character's entire storyline for 20 years is "Who am I THIS week?", it's time to just toss out the detrius wholesale.

  7. Third smartest man in the world doesn't sound so super.

  8. Since her boobs were mentioned, did everyone notice how they're fused together?

  9. Now if they could just ditch the wacky patronymic naming convention (which only ever seems to be applied to women named Kara, never to any other female Kryptonian I've heard of), I'd be happy.

  10. r greene: Yeah. Now I'm trying to remember, properly, who're #'s 1 and 2.
Still, I guess you can only have so many World's Smartest Whatsits, and they're probably not including non-humans, some of whom are cheating.
Maybe it's like saying "almost as strong as Superman." It's a breadbox thing.

    Batman and Lex Luthor, respectively.
