Happy Easter

Its Easter Sunday and the blogiverse (all of the parts I frequent, at least) is filled with blasphemous Zombie Jesus jokes, and adorable Peeps links. So, here's a change of pace:

(My sister tells me that's actually a fun movie.)

Anyway, you'll get no Easter Zombie post from me until someone puts this song to footage from King of Kings.

  1. Its an AWESOME movie. Jeebus beats up like forty athiests who all pile clown-car like out of a Jeep Wrangler. The ISB has a review of it somewhere...

  2. Hmm... did I steal Sims' Easter post?

  3. Yeah, this movie is all kinds of fun. Jesus and El Santo team up to fight vampires. And as I recall, there's a song and dance number, too. What's not to love?

Also, my wife thought the guy playing Jesus was kinda hot. Your mileage may vary, but if it doesn't, then I suppose it's got that going for it, too.

  5. But they're after the lesbians! At the Lesbian Day Center! They need their skin to walk in daylight!

And Jesus gets his ear pierced!

And the clown cars full of atheists getting their asses kicked!!!

    And love doesn't know gender!

  8. Silence! I don't care if El Santo has been dead for nearly TWENTY YEARS before the filming of JCVS. That was totally El Santo.

    Hypertime, see?

  9. El Santo can never die, duh.

And yeah, this is a great movie. I kinda wish Jesus would have kept his old school look, as the shaven and short-haired just doesn't say "Jesus" like bearded and robed does, but it's pretty fun. Watch with friends.

  10. I lived in Ottawa, where the cast and crew is based, when this movie came out, and I got to see it the week it premiered. It was fantastic. At the time, several of the cast and crew worked at the indie theatre where it was shown, too.

Having the star of the film sell me my ticket and the director tear it for me as I walked in added to the experience.
