This Probably Won't Count

For Week 18 of 52, Douglas Wolk issued the following challenge:
Actually, here's a challenge for 52 Pickup's readers: design a card for a Rider-Waite-style tarot deck whose image is an unaltered panel, or fragment of a panel, from a DC comic.
I wasn't going to participate, since it's hard to find the right symbols in a panel that wasn't working for representing the tarot, but this was irresistable.

Normally, The Fool would include a cliff for him to walk off of, and a dog nipping at his heels. I went for charm over symbolism here.

  1. It's 7 in the morning, my head and shoulder hurts. My mouth tastes foul. I can't find change for the subway and you're making me laugh.

    Thanks.

  2. Why does Mr Rayner have a green penis for a right forearm? Is this some kind of occult symbology? Is he secretly a worshipper of Crowley?

My word verification code is dckbpzu, the first three letters of which seem strangely appropriate.

  4. I don't care if it counts, it should totally win anyway.

  5. Can I just use this opportunity to say that goofy mask or no, that costume is so much better than the stupid Ion or post-#150 Lee costume?

  6. I dont understand - Kyle can make the Ring do/make anything, and so he uses it to *make a crowbar* for him to *work with his hands* to open this crypt thing? Am I missing something here?

  8. I am so printing this thing off. Damn you Ragnell! You've forced me to end my two year long color ink cartridge fast.

Not only that, but he makes a *short* crowbar, when he could make a twenty foot crowbar that would give him a huge lever arm, and that thing would pop in a jiffy.

Hell, he could probably make a twenty foot crowbar, a big pivot point, and a giant green hammer to whack the crowbar with.

At least he didn't make a tiny green nail file with which to saw through it.
