There is a reason behind it all.

It's so hard for me to be on the other side because it's not our intention. There is a reason behind it all. We don't see it that way and strive very hard to have a diverse DCU. I mean, we have green, pink, and blue characters. We have the Great Ten out there and I have counter statistics, but I won't get into that. It's not how we perceived it. We get the same thing about how we treat our female characters.
--DC Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler

In other news, though it was never DC's intention, all of the books on my pull-list this week (and last week) are Marvel.

  1. What do you think it'd take for DC (and Marvel) to be run by actual human beings who know there's a huge world outside comics? A global catastrophe? An earthquake? It's disturbing to see how entertainment is in the hands of people who have no idea of how rude, gross, racist, sexist and ridiculous they sound.

Green, pink, and blue... really, there's no possible dialogue with people who say this! These people just live in a world apart from human reality. It's like trying to communicate with sharks.

  2. I have to admit to feeling just a tiny bit sorry for the man. He's just so completely incoherent AND clueless.

  3. I want to see someone at DC just have a meltdown on a question like this.

"We have these Chinese stereotypes and aliens, so why won't you be happy? You're just like women, they hate it when we kill all the female characters! Just because we're planning to put a bullet between Black Canary's eyes next month and ripping off Wonder Woman's arms in September, you think there's some kind of pattern!"

  4. In fairness to Sattler, I just read the latest issue of The Great Ten and it was actually pretty good.

    Otherwise, he's a moron.

  5. "I mean, we have blue, pink and green characters"

I don't want to come off as racist but I am sick and tired of the lazy pink and green and purple people never helping in our fight for equality. They never show up to march. They never vote. They never join in on arguments like this one. It's almost as if they don't exist.

Yet these bastards continue to reap the rewards of our constant fight for equality.

  6. Well it's not like they really explore pink, green and blue culture. They might as well be writing white people and then just colour correcting them at the last minute.
