Off-TopicUrban Legend

(ETA: Commenters debunked this)

(Via) A "Black" Man, A Moor, John Hanson, was the First President of the United States! 1781-1782 A.D.

  1. The Articles of Confederation had no executive branch. Moreover, they didn't even refer to to the "United States of America", but instead 13 sovereign states. Hanson (who was not black) was the 3rd "President" of the Legislature. That is, the equivalent of the Prime Minister.

Other than that, keep up the good work.

  2. oops, you beat me to it,
It's Notable and everything, but the Confederacy created by the article's really were a different creature then the United States as we know it. Our present country was the result of a Theoretical Revolution on the part of Hamilton, Jay and Madison against the weakness inherent in the confederacy.
Wow, I didn't want to come across as condescending history guy and I think I fell a little short of the Mark, Sorry bout that.

  3. Naw, that's cool. I sleep through history and encourage the spreading of urban legends.

(Except when they come in chainmail.)

  4. Not so fast. According to the card, he was a "Moop".
